Amazon Cloud: Free Remote Data Storage for Web or Android Applications

Amazon has just launched a brand new, remote storage service to make organizing and accessing your MP3s and other data a cinch.

The Amazon Cloud Drive is like your hard drive in the clouds – aka Amazon’s secure servers. You can store your music, videos, photos, and any other documents. To upload, download and access your files, all you need is a web browser. Get more information about how Amazon Cloud works.

FREE 5 GB of Online Storage for MP3s and More

To launch its new Cloud Drive, Amazon is giving away 5 GB of free storage — enough space to store up to 1000 songs. You can use this space to remotely store any data – pictures, video, documents and of course MP3s – and you will never be charged for it.

FREE Storage of all Amazon MP3

When you purchase songs or albums from the Amazon MP3 Store, you can now save them for free in your Cloud Drive – and they will not be counted toward your 5 GB of free storage space. Plus you can listen to them from any web-connected computer or Android device with the Amazon Cloud Player installed.

Amazon has a ton of MP3s on sale right now for just $.69 each, if you want to give your free storage a test drive.

FREE Upgrade to 20 GB of storage when you buy any album from the Amazon MP3 Store

Purchase any album from the Amazon MP3 Store and you will get upgraded for free to one-year of 20 GB storage from the date of your purchase. That’s enough space to store up to 4000 songs.

At the end of the year, you can elect to pay for the 20 GB upgrade going forward, or you will be automatically dropped back down to the always free 5GB. Amazon won’t charge you for the upgarde unless you opt-in.

I’m definitely intrigued and plan to sign up for my free cloud. Right now, all of our music lives on my Mac in iTunes. But then my husband can’t access it unless he takes my computer… which selfishly, I don’t like very much!

Do you think you’ll be grabbing a cloud?
