Amazon to Start Sunday Delivery Option

Amazon announced yesterday that it’s going to team up with USPS to start rolling out an optional Sunday delivery!

According to this MSN Money story, New York and Los Angeles customers can already this week start choosing Sunday delivery at no extra cost. The service will be expanded within the year to Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, New Orleans and other cities.

While the rest of us won’t be able to benefit from Sunday delivery quite yet, Amazon has also announced that it’s adding 70,000 seasonal workers meet holiday order demand — so at least we don’t have to worry about a slow-down from our regular two-day delivery expectation.

I definitely welcome this news and can’t wait for it to come to Kansas City. I’ve become so accustomed to my two-day delivery with Amazon Prime that ordering on Thursday evening or Friday is always a bummer, since I know I won’t get my order until as late as Tuesday (two day delivery has always meant two BUSINESS days).

What about you? Are you looking forward to Sunday delivery from Amazon?
