Need a new camera?

Target has a smoking hot deal this week on the highly-rated Canon SX150 14.1MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Zoom.

Regularly $199.99, it’s on sale for $99.99. Even sweeter, you a FREE $30 Target Gift Card with your Canon purchase – effectively making the camera just $69.99. (I assume most of us would have “what to do” with a $30 Target gift card!)

Shipping is free on this camera, too!

By way of comparison, this camera is selling for $118 right now on Amazon – and has a four-star rating.

Thanks, Hip2Save.

  1. Audrey Davidowitz says:

When I tried to buy the Canon camera at Target the price was 129.99 and then 99.99 with the gift card.

    • Mara Strom says:

Audrey – Target adds the $30 gift card in, then subtracts it out. Your total will be $99+ applicable taxes. Then you will receive your camera AND the $30 gift card in the mail… making it “like” $69.

  2. Shipping is not coming out free for me. the total is coming out to $108.10?? how do i get free shipping?

    • Mara Strom says:

How much is the shipping, ChaniMom? Mine was $99 + tax is it possible your total is the tax?

      • Its $5.11 taxes plus $3 shipping. I ordered it anyhow (I guess it was extra $3 in place of gas and time) My son was saving for a camera and he wanted it. I was trying to see why i was being charged shipping.Isn’t usually target free shipping past $50
        Thanks anyhow
P.S Perhaps next time you can add in post that it might be a up to $8 more for taxes. Its kind of disapointing when you gear yourself to buy something for a certain price and then you have to rethink the whole thing again just as you are about to finish transaction.

        • Mara Strom says:

It’s hard to predict how much people will pay for taxes, since it varies by what state you live in. Since most of my readers aren’t from Kansas the amount I get charged for taxes won’t be very helpful.

I’m not certain why you were charged the $3 for shipping – it was supposed to be free shipping.

I’m sorry that you were disappointed, though :(

  3. Thanks Mara–just ordered one!

  4. A word of warning, based on multiple experiences with Canon cameras.
I’ve never owned or used this model, but I and other family members have owned multiple Canon cameras taking “regular” (AA or AAA) batteries, and the battery life was consistently so bad as to make the camera unusable. A quick search for this model shows that some reviewers feel the same about this.
We’ve bought other Canons, but only the kind that come with a recharger for the camera battery. Never again for the AA or AAA types, for Canon.
    My 2 cents.

    • Hey Mark- so that was one of my concerns as well, but several reviewers on Amazon and cnet wrote that they use lithium rechargeble AA batteries which made essentially solved the problem (though they said, they also had back-ups with them in case those also lost power.) I’m hoping that trick will work for me!
