Chag Pesach Kasher v’Sameach

Splitting of the Red Sea

Chag Kasher v’Sameach, from my family to yours!

I got a little Martha on my seder table this year. Which is so not my natural inclination, but I had a blast doing it. Thankfully the kids loved it too!

Passover Tablescape

I know the last few weeks and certainly the past couple of days have been frenetic, exhausting and downright draining for most of us. I hope as you sit down tonight, you find yourself blessed to be sharing your seder with people you love — and who love you!

P.S. The inspiration for my tablescape was this incredible Passover design (yeah, I know hers is a bajillion times better than mine, but hey, she’s a professional party planner!)

P.P.S. If you haven’t printed out my FREE Omer Calendar yet, now’s the time to do it!

  1. I hope your sederim were wonderful!

  2. Hi Mara,
LOVE the way you decorated your table! Thanks for the inspiration for next year. Just wondering what kind of fabrics you used for the water (it looks like 2 diff types of fabric) and where you bought them? I’m hoping you r willing to share your trade secrets.

Aw, thank you so much! No secrets here. I went to JoAnn’s, where I searched the clearance aisle of fabrics. That’s where I found the batik fabric, marked down to $5 per yard. I got 2 yards 6 feet) – and cut the yardage in half (length wise), so I’d have enough for each side of the table. Then I got 3 yards of a blue tulle fabric, which I also cut in half length-wise and then scrunched up under the batik to give it that “wave” look toward the middle. (PS the tulle wasn’t on sale, but it was only $1.50 per yard. Of course, I used a 50% off coupon. 😉 ) I’m sure that whatever you do, it will be adorable! I’ve seen everything from gorgeous (and $$$$) fabrics to simple plastic tablecloths from the dollar store and they all look awesome!
