CVS Deals: Week of 1/9/11

Thanks to Crystal at The Thrifty Mama for all the CVS match-ups. Here’s a look at my favorite deals this week – including a GREAT scenario on toilet paper and Kleenex, which I definitely plan to take advantage of! Thanks to $20 in ECBs, my out of pocket will be almost $0!

If you are new to shopping at CVS, get started by reading my How to Shop at CVS Tutorial, and my post on why I recommend shopping at (seemingly overpriced) drugstores.

  1. Hi Mara,
Do you use all of your $20 ECB’s on one transaction, or do you use a few dollars here and there? And, does CVS let you use $20 worth of ECB’s on one purchase?

    • Brenda – Yes, CVS lets you use as many ECBs as you have – as long as you don’t exceed the value of the items you are buying. So, if my total is $20.50 after coupons, I can several different ECBs totally up to $20.50. If my ECBs = $21, I buy pick up a “filler” – a cheap clearance item, or even just a $.50 candybar.

      HTH.

  2. Mara- Do you know if it’s possible to do this kind of shopping online? I noticed the Scott’s coupon is only printable and I’d like to start shopping online more at drugstores using rewards for convenience. Have you checked out drugstore.com?

    • Rivka – Yes and no. No – you can’t “CVS” online – there are no ECBs with CVS.com, nor can you use your coupons. But, yes – there are ways to save and deal shop with online shopping. For example, I have shared deals at diapers.com and soap.com. I haven’t seen any amazing deals at Drugstore.com in the past couple of months, but I will definitely be on the lookout. You can even score great bargains at Amazon from time to time.

  3. Thanks Mara! I will look at amazon though I don’t know if they have deals on basic groceries but ill check! As for diapers I’m proud to say I cloth diaper (though I feel guilty admitting I’m using a diaper service so perhaps its not as frugal) so don’t need diapers.com!
