For the next three weeks….

airplane to israel

Today’s the day! After months of planning (and saving), my family and I are headed off to Israel for a three week trip. We are beyond excited to be going back to Israel after five long years away.

But what will happen to KOAB while you’re gone?

I am thrilled (and relieved) to let you know that the blog will be in the very competent hands of my fabulous assistant, Meagan Newsome, while we’re in Israel this month.

Since January, Meg has been helping out behind the KOAB scenes for a few hours each week. I first met Meg when she was running her own frugal-living blog called Frugal, Fun and Fortune. Hers was far and away one of my favorites, so while I was sad when she closed up shop, I also knew that working with her on KOAB would be incredible.

And was I ever right! Meg is smart, talented, funny, generous to a fault, incredibly detail-oriented — and she can sniff out a hot deal faster than you can say BOGO.

So while I’m in Israel, Meg will be taking over the day-to-day reigns of Kosher on a Budget, sharing the best deals, match-ups and freebies. I know you will be in excellent hands and love her as much as I do!

I’ll check in daily on KOAB, pop over to Facebook when I’m able, and do my best to answer emails in a timely fashion.

On a personal note, I appreciate all of you so much and hope that you will understand my decision to take a brief hiatus from the day to day operations here. I truly want to soak up this once in a lifetime trip with my family.

Wishing you all a Shana Tova and G’mar Chatima Tova! xxoo

  3. Wishing you a safe and wonderful trip. I (and I’m sure other KOAB readers) will want to know how you were able to save for this and what deals you were able to find to make it happen. I also have a family of 5 and DH and I have never been to Israel. In fact, none of our parents or grandparents have been either. We’d love to get there someday but the airfare alone is a killer! Can’t wait to hear your tips from the trip!

  4. Have a wonderful trip!
