FREE Duracell Batteries + FREE Shipping + 2.5% Cash-Back

Yay! Staples is running is annual FREE batteries promotion again!

Buy two packs of 16-count Duracell AA or AAA batteries and get back 100% in Staples Rewards.

FREE is good, but here’s how to make the deal even sweeter:

  • Add two packages of batteries to your cart (the limit per household is two). The AA are #581672 and the AAA are #618854. Just plug those numbers into the search box.
  • Proceed to check out – you will pay $28.58 plus tax.
  • Your shipping will be FREE, no code required, thanks to the Staples free shipping week promotion – plus, your batteries will be delivered in one business day!
  • Get $28.58 back in Staples rewards.
  • Then, within a month, get another $.71 credited to your ShopAtHome account – it’s not a lot, but why leave FREE money on the table?!
  • You can also use this $5 off $25 coupon to lower your initial out of pocket, but keep in mind that Staples Rewards will only equal your after-coupon total (so no money maker with this coupon).

You must have a Staples Rewards account (sign up for one here) to get your rewards credited to your account. Rewards are like ECBs at CVS – they are money that you can use at Staples only. They typically take 30-60 days to get processed.

By the way, you can also do this deal in the store, but you won’t get the cash-back. And since shipping is FREE, I am all for getting my free batteries from the comfort of my couch!

  1. Is this a rebate or bucks back type of deal?

    • Sorry! My wording was unclear. I have edited it – this is a bucks-back type deal. The straight-up rebates are Staples Easy Rebate; this is Staples Rewards. HTH!

  2. How does Staples Rewards work? I think I’ve been a member for a while but I don’t remember ever getting anything out of it…

    • When an item has Staples Rewards attached, you get the money back at the end of the quarter in the form of a check to be used at Staples. In addition to buying rewards items, you can also return ink for – I believe $2 per cartridge. At the rate we go through ink, this is a nice little savings!

  3. I decided to do this deal and it’s a good thing too…I had $7.20 in Staples Rewards in my account that I had forgotten about that would expire in November. I didn’t use them for the batteries but rather for a new Bluetooth earpiece that was on clearance. (I ended up getting it for about $2!)

  4. i dont understand how you know you get the full money back on your staples rewards. I dont see it mentioning it anywhere when purchasing….? also after i purchased it, my staples rewards account remains “empty”… Sorry, im knew to this obviously, thanks for helping!!!

  5. I’m being charged delivery. Is there a trick for free delivery?

  6. I think the free delivery expired.

  7. Did anyone else have this problem? Staples is NOT giving me the rewards credit because they said its an in-store only deal…… and I lost my receipt to return it. any ideas?…..

    • Oh no, Chana! I’m sorry 🙁 I didn’t end up ordering – I was so crazed with chag and blogging and a sick kid, I didn’t do much of anything else on my to-do list.

You should an email confirmation from when you ordered. I’d print that out and bring it in along with the card you put the batteries on. They should take it back even w/o the order confirmation, but just in case, I’d bring it.

LMK if it works out. Again, very sorry to hear this 🙁
