Free Toothbrushes at Walgreens or ShopRite

This week at ShopRite or next week at Walgreens, you can get four or more Reach toothbrushes for free.

Actually, better than free. This deal is what I like to lovingly refer to as a money maker. Yes, I said MONEY MAKER, friends. That means (in case you didn’t take Econ 1010) that you will MAKE MONEY for buying toothbrushes. I know. It’s crazy.

But everybody needs toothbrushes, right? I mean, hello, Pesach is coming. If nothing else, you’re going to need a new toothbrush then!

Okay, so here are the details:

There is a national catalina deal on Reach toothbrushes. Remember catalinas are like little cash coupons that print out when you purchase certain products and can be used toward a later purchase. If you buy four Reach toothbrushes, you will get a $4 catalina. At Walgreens, that catalina is called a Register Reward. (Stay with me.)

This week at ShopRite Reach toothbrushes are on sale for $.99!

Next week at Walgreens, Reach toothbrushes will be on sale for $.99 each with an in-ad coupon!

And, of course, there are $1/1 coupons to pair with this sale:

$1/1 Select Listerine or Reach Products, 1/9/11 Smart Source #2 insert
$1/1 Reach Floss, Flosser or Toothbrush, 10/10/10Red
$1/1 Reach Toothbrush or Floss Product

Buy 4 Reach Crystal Clean Toothbrushes @ $0.99 each
Use (4) $1/1 Reach Coupons – at Walgreens, you will also need to use the in-ad coupon
Pay $0
Get a $4 catalina / Register Reward
= $4 profit, which you can turn around and use to buy anything else you need at ShopRite or Walgreens!

One little post script, if you plan to do this deal at Walgreens. Wags has this somewhat irksome rule that the number of coupons used can not exceed the number of items purchased. Sometimes, their computers are pre-programmed with the in-ad coupon, and therefore using it doesn’t count as a coupon.

But most of the times, they have to scan the in-ad coupon, which – in this case – would mean that you would have 5 COUPONS for 4 ITEMS. Wop, wop. The till will beep and the cashier will be flummoxed.

You can avoid this couponing mishap by having a “filler”. Find the cheapest possible thing. It doesn’t matter what it is – look for orange clearance stickers. I once got a coloring book for $.25 that had $5 worth of coupons in it and used that as my filler. Even if it’s something you will just turn around and donate – who cares! You are MAKING $4 on this transaction, and getting four FREE toothbrushes. It’s okay if you waste $.18 on something you don’t need.

Questions?

Thanks, Living Rich with Coupons.

i looked at the rite aid circular in for baltimore and i didn’t mention the 1 dollar sale for Reach Crystal Clean Toothbrushes? does that mean it’s not in baltimore?

    • Oh my gosh, thanks so much for catching that… Not RiteAID, but SHOPRite. (For all my NJ readers.) That’s what I get for posting when I am running on fumes. The whole time I was editing that post, I kept thinking, hmmmm… Something looks wrong, but I couldn’t figure out what it was. Sorry to disappoint!
