My youngest two children are what I like to affectionately call JUNK-a-holics.
If given the choice, they would eat candy and cookies all day. (You can imagine what a delight they are at shul kiddushes, right?)
While sometimes there is just no stopping the Sugar Monster, I try as often as I can to come up with healthy alternatives.
Fresh fruit or cut-up veggies work – sometimes.
But you know what works all of the time? CLIF Kids snacks.
And I’m gonna be totally honest here and say – they’re not just good for my kids. (Yes, this sweet-toothed mommy loves them, too!)
CLIF Kids just released a new flavor bar – Iced Oatmeal Cookie, and generously sent me a fun box filled with samples of it – and a number of their other snack flavors as well.
If you’re an oatmeal cookie fan, you will love this new flavor. Me? I love the icing on top. (Told you I had a sweet tooth!)
My kids’ favorites were, predictably, the chocolate chip and chocolate brownie bars.
I actually like the organic fruit twist the best. (Another confession – I have a major weak spot for gummies. Dots becoming kosher was simultaneously the best and worst thing that could have happened to me. So when I say I love these, trust me – I know what I’m talking about! The CLIF ZFruit twists SERIOUSLY hit that spot for me!)
The best part about CLIF’s Kids snacks – besides their taste, that is – is that they are all certified kosher AND organic, which means they do not contain artificial flavors or high fructose corn syrup.
And, with just the right blend of protein, carbohydrates and fiber, these bars and snacks balance kids’ energy levels when they need a mid-morning, mid-afternoon or mid-anytime pick-me-up.
You can actually feel good about handing one of these to your kids!
