It’s baaaack! Anyone remember this deal from last year at this time? (I sure do, because I picked it up then!)

The West Bend 41300 Hi-Rise Electronic Dual-Blade Breadmaker is marked down to just $59 with FREE shipping, regularly $98 and up.

The West Bend can accommodate four-size loaves – from one pound up to two and a half pounds. There are also 11 pre-programmed settings and a 12-hour delay timer (wake up to fresh baked bread).

Those dual blades mean it can accomodate all sorts of “heartier” flours without a problem. And according to at least one reader (so sorry I can’t remember who told me this!), this machine is great for handeling gluten-free baking – if that’s a priority for you.

As I said, we have this bread maker and use it to mix up our challah dough. It’s worked great for us for the last year and I’m very please.

Remember, Amazon pricing can change on a dime, so always confirm prices before you check-out.

  1. I never thought I would buy a bread machine. I always thought they were so dumb. Plus, I really really really don’t have room for another big appliance. BUTTT, I’m in the process of going GF, and every Shabbos is a nightmare cuz I cant stop myself when theres challah around. lol. SO THANK YOU! for posting this deal, because I now realize I really need this machine to save me (and my symptoms) to make GF challah which I really have no time to make by hand. You are seriously saving me! :)

  2. Id love to order this, but was wondering.. can I make my own recipe in it? Or do I have to make one specifically for bread machines?

    • Mara Strom says:

You can make your own recipes, but you’d have to tweak them to work for a bread machine. Try googling “how to convert my bread recipe” or something like that. I bet you’ll find the tweaks you need to know!

  3. Thanks for letting me know about this great deal. I have a question about how many loaves it makes. My old bread machine was a 1.5 lb model, that made 2 medium size loaves (with a 4 1/2 cup bread flour recipe). Do you know if I can double the recipe with this 2.5 lb model? I would really like to be able to make 4 medium size loaves at once.
    Thank you!

  4. I missed it! I will watch to see if another opportunity arises. We had a little emergency yesterday that kept me away from the computer. I knew we shouldn’t have bought a house with a septic tank! Ah, well, at least it wasn’t an expensive fix. And we love the house! Life is full of compromises.

There is a reason for everything – I wasn’t meant to get this machine at this time. :)

    • Definitely! And I hope the house is okay!

      • Thanks, Mara. Unfortunately, we will see the plumber again tomorrow. We figured out why the kitchen table was wet. It seems there is a problem with the shower, though the septic problem was solved! Bad pun time – when it rains, it pours.
