I keep hearing amazing things about these knives.
Amazon has the Kai Pure Komachi2 Knife Set, 8-Piece for $59.95, originally $97, with free shipping.
Per the Amazon Price Tracker, this is the lowest price on this set. At $7.50 per knife with a five-star rating, that sounds like a pretty great deal to me.
This 8-knife set includes:
- 4-Inch Tomato Knife
- 4-Inch Citrus Knife
- 3 1/2-Inch Paring Knife
- 6-Inch Multi Utility Knife
- 9-Inch Slicing Knife
- 6.5-Inch Hollow-Ground Santoku Knife
- 8-Inch Chef’s Knife
- 8-Inch Bread Knife
I’ve been reading a lot of reviews online (not just Amazon) and they are all glowing. Here’s what one said about the green paring knife that comes with this set.
Mine has kept a nice edge, and gets scary sharp in no time. It’s 3-5/8″ long with a 3-1/2″ cutting edge, and is 1/16″ thick. The blade has a full flat grind and really slices with ease. The blade has a coating on it to prevent corrosion and to keep food from sticking to it, which I’ve found works well. Clean-up is easy with the blade and handle as well. The right side of the blade has lasering, which doesn’t attract rust or impede clean-up.
