Lodge Cast Iron Dutch Oven – $45, Shipped (Originally $118)

Dutch Oven, blue

Ooooh, I *love* this color!

Amazon has the very pretty Lodge Color Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven, Blue, 6-Quart for just $45 (originally $118) – which other than 12 hours back in November, is the lowest price this dutch oven has ever been on Amazon.

Shipping is free as well.

If you’re looking for something other than the regular flowers or brunch for Mother’s Day, I can say – you know, as a mother – that I’d love to get this! (And no, that’s not a hint to my hubby ;-))

Amazon pricing can change on a dime, so please confirm prices before you check-out.

Wondering if fans of Le Crueset would consider this to be of equal quality?

I have been wanting to buy a Dutch Oven for the longest time — saving up!
However, once I’m spending the money buying it and the time cooking in it,
I’d prefer to buy the best….

Anyone know if it’s of the exact same quality?

    • Chani, I have been thinking of getting one of these for some time. I have a couple of Le Creusets but cannot bring myself to spend on another one. Cook’s Illustrated gave this pot VERY high ratings and I am seriously considering purchasing one. (In the ratings, it was rated as well as Le Creuset.)

  2. I have heard that most dutch ovens, buy their very nature, are quite sturdy and reliable regardless of brand if you take good care of them and follow the manufacture’s instructions about use/cleaning, etc. Though less-expensive brands might not last quite as long as Le Creuset or Staub, they are considered a very good buy for those who cannot spend hundreds of dollars. I just got a Martha Stewart dutch oven as a wedding present and am quite pleased with it, though I obviously cannot speak to how well it will hold up over time.
