We went cable-free eight years ago and haven’t looked back. There are two things you are going to need to before you can cut the cord entirely — at least if you want to be able to watch programming on your television: A streaming device and a high def antenna.
There are any number of antennas on the market, but the one was have is the Mohu. TODAY ONY at Amazon (and while supplies last), the Mohu MH-110598 Leaf Paper-Thin Indoor HDTV Antenna, 30 Mile Range is marked down to its lowest ever price.
The widget isn’t displaying the price correctly, so you will need to click over to see the current price. This antenna regularly goes for $39.99 and has never before been below $32.99, so if you are seeing it for $23.99, that’s definitely the best price.
Keep in mind that this antennae has a 30-mile range. We have one of each – a 30 and a 50, and the 50 does get more stations (of course, most of them are not ones that we are interested in). The biggest I’ve noticed is that we get clearer reception on Fox with the 50 than with the 30.
To figure out which is best for you, you can do some quick research to find out where your towers are — and how far you live from them. If you are in a mostly suburban area, there shouldn’t be much “interference”. Highly populated, urban areas, on the other hand, may need to be even closer than 30 miles from the tower to get good reception.
Two-day shipping on your Mohu Leaf is free with your Amazon Prime account. If you’re not a member, you can get free 5-7 day shipping via Super Saver Shipping when you spend $35 or more.
