Save Money with Checkout 51 - a new money-saving app for the US & Canada

I’m very excited to share with you a new (to me) money saving app this morning: Checkout 51. This app works for both US shoppers, and those from Canada — so I know a lot of my Canadian readers are going to be excited to hear that!

Like Ibotta, Checkout 51 is a quick way to save money with your smartphone. It’s even easier than clipping coupons, and takes less time, too!

Plus, unlike Ibotta, with Checkout 51, you can actually save money even if you don’t have a smart phone (although it is a tiny bit quicker with a smart phone).

Here’s how it works:

  • Browse their list of rebate offers — their list refreshes Thursday mornings with a new list of offers (and the previous week’s list expires).
  • Buy the products at any store, but be sure to confirm that the offer is still available (since many are limited quantities). This is one of the big changes from Ibotta, which works with a set list of stores. In fact, with Checkout 51, you can even get credit for products ordered online, since packing slips are accepted as proof of purchase!
  • Upload your receipt using the free app or via your computer. There are photo-taking tips on their Checkout 51 website, as blurry or unclear photos will be rejected.
  • Once you hit $20 in your balance account, Checkout 51 will cut you a check! Simple as that.

Plus, if you sign up for Checkout 51 now, they’ll give you added $2 bonus when you upload your first grocery receipt (of $20 or more).

Check it out — I’m eager to hear what you think!

Comments

  1. I read another post about Checkout 51 yesterday and the blogger seemed to think there would be no problem with “double-counting” a receipt and submitting it to both Ibotta and Checkout 51. For example, there are currently milk offers on both sites, so this could make for nice stacking opportunities! Thanks.

  2. I really like Checkout 51 and they have a fresh product offer every week too! I did submit the milk offer on both Checkout 51 and Ibotta without any problem 🙂
