  1. Beware the Hanes deal. I almost had a rumble in Target yesterday b/c they were claiming that my 4 bonus packs didn’t qualify for the gift card (even the manager), for reasons they weren’t quite sure. I indeed had 4 bonus packs, even ones that appeared in the ad photo. But the (*@#& register didn’t trigger it, so it MUST mean one of them didn’t qualify. After much protracted discussion, me offering to exchange one (if only they could figure out which one didn’t qualify and why), bogus reasons why one MIGHT not qualify, my 17 year-old son said very quietly, “you know, if you advertise ANY Hanes bonus pack and then you don’t honor that, it’s false advertising and that is illegal”. Indeed, the ad does say “any Hanes bonus pack”. The manager kind of tittered, told my son he was “not going to win this fight”….and promptly backed down and asked me “do you want $5 off your total or the gift card itself?” I think I might have to take this kid shopping more often.
