If you have any interest in photography, read on! This is a ShootFlyShoot.
Have you recently purchased a DSLR? (Maybe that Canon deal I posted earlier?)
Perhaps you already owned a DSLR camera, but never managed to figure out how to get off Auto mode.
Thru Cyber Monday (11/30), ShootFlyShoot is running an awesome 50% off sale good on ALL their classes. You can even buy gift certificates for 50% off – if you want to let a friend or family member pick out their own classes.

- Photography 101 & Photography 102 (Combined Package) —
$99$48.50 (this is the one that I purchased two years when I was learning to use my DSLR!)
They also have classes in Lightroom and Photoshop.
Two years ago, I bought a “good” camera and vowed to myself that I would never use it on “automatic mode”. Only problem? I didn’t know my aperture from my shutter speed.
Despite my ignorance, I really wanted to figure out how to take good pictures that utilized the full capability of my brand new camera. I wasn’t aiming for award-winning, mind you — just for pictures that I don’t constantly have to apologize for!
I took this shot using their teaching – and that post has gotten re-pinned almost 100,000 times (still can’t even believe that)!
I was really impressed with the Shoot Fly Shoot videos — they are clear, easy to understand and just enough information without being overwhelming. I like how they break the lessons down into bite-sized pieces — Exposure, ISP, Aperture, Shutter Speed, etc.
The videos range from a few minutes to 45 minutes long, and you can watch them over – and over – again until you really “get” that lesson. Once you make a purchase, the class is yours forever — watch them again, anytime you need a refresher. Being able to learn at your own speed is so important when you’re doing something hands on like photography.
Beside shots for the blog, I primarily use the lessons I gleaned from Shoot Fly Shoot to take shots of my kids. Like this one of my little girl, which I just love.
And here’s another one of my favorites from this past summer… hydrangeas are my favorite (and aren’t they especially lovely to look at now as winter is settling in?!).
This sale is valid through Monday, 11/30/15, only.
