Welcome to the 2nd Annual Virtual Sukkah Hop!

Bruchim Ha’Baim! Welcome to the 2nd Annual Virtual Sukkah Hop on Kosher on a Budget.

My family is still furiously working on our sukkah, but here’s a picture of the construction process. My husband is hanging the walls, while my 6 year-old is digging through the tub of Sukkah decorations. (By the way, he’s wearing his birthday crown in the picture – since this photo was snapped on his birthday.)

Still left to be done: The painted on mural wall needs to dry (here’s a shot of the sukkah my middle son painted – doesn’t it look like the mishkan?!)

… and I need to laminate some recent art work. Hopefully the schach will go up easy peasy (famous last words) once the last wall is done; we owned one schach roll from Israel and bought a second roll this fall from The Sukkah Project.  I’m also excited to hang some new paper lanterns, which I hope will add to the festive atmosphere.

I promise to post pictures of the final product, but in the meantime — since I’m sure not everyone is as last minute as I am — I wanted to go ahead and kick-off this Virtual Sukkah Hop Party.

Here’s how this is gonna work: Simply link up to a photo(s) of your sukkah from your blog, if you blog, or to any publicly accessible photo-sharing site, such as Flickr or Pinterest.

You can also email me a link or attached photo, if you’d rather… or you can include a link in the comments section. Basically, however you do it, you’ll be doing it right!

Next week, during chol ha’moed, I will post a KOAB sukkah round-up featuring your gorgeous sukkot. AND, I will be announcing the winner of the $10 giveaway.

Yes, it’s not a party without a door prize! So, everyone who shares a link to their sukkah picture(s) will be entered to win a random drawing. The winner will get $10 in cash, via paypal.

Are you ready to open up your sukkah and invite in the KOAB world? I can’t wait to see all your incredible sukkot! Chag Sameach!
