This is a “guest post” from my husband, who’s much better at the app thing than I am!
This evening I came across a fun new-to-me app, Wrapp, which is a Facebook app that you run on your cell phone. I had never heard of it before, but a few hours later I was shopping on the MLB.com website with $10 to burn.
When you sign up for Wrapp on your smartphone – available via Google Play for Android and for iPhones on iTunes – you get a handful of gift cards for yourself and others that you can give to various Facebook friends.
Some are for sites I have never heard of ($20 at Warby Parker, $5 at PLNDR) and others for sites I am familiar with ($10 at the MLB store, $5 at Sephora, a gift at the Angry Birds shop and a subscription to the Wall Street Journal).
You can also buy gift cards to a variety of stores – among them Gap, H&M, Banana Republic, Levi’s, National Geographic, Old Navy, Zappos and more – to gift to your Facebook friends.
Though I am admittedly still poking around, I can say that after combining my MLB card with Mara’s free Shoprunner account, I managed to get my kids a DVD for just two dollars. Definitely worth it.
If you try it out, please let me know how it works for you!
