A (More) Frugal Option for Rosh Hashana Cards

I love those Tiny Prints cards, don’t get me wrong. But a few of you have asked me about a more frugal alternative for Rosh Hashana cards, so here goes: Vistaprint!

Vistaprint has a deal right now where you can get 10 greeting cards for FREE, you just pay shipping. The least expensive option for shipping is $4.63, which says it will take three weeks, but in my experience it NEVER takes that long.

I used picnik (my new BFF – the free photo editing software is more than enough for this kind of thing) to whip up this New Year card for my blog. I *heart* it!

To upload your own image on Vistaprint, you pay $2.49. I ordered 10 with the cheapo shipping – so that’s just $.71 a card. If you have a smallish list, I think that’s about the best deal you’re going to find.

  1. I am all about using your affiliate links, but here’s my idea for an even more frugal–and greener–solution. Use picnik or other software… even Publisher or Word… to make a design/message. Save it as a JPEG. Send it via email and post it on Facebook for everyone to see.

    • That’s definitely the most frugal, Caroline! I am actually doing that for our family cards, if we can get a decent picture in time. But for those that like to send actual mail that you can touch, I’m betting they won’t find a cheaper option. I figured a few cards to say thank you to my sponsors was in order 😉 {Heck, you might even get one!}

      • Don’t get me wrong–I do love the cards (and I’m a card-saver–love the sukkah decoration idea). It’s just that a whole bunch of people in our lives have already gotten mail from us twice in the last six months, so I think I’ve done my part for the USPS, too 😉

    • LOL! You had the same idea 🙂 Green is good for me! I don’t think most people keep the cards they get anymore either, so an email that doesn’t take up any space could be saved to remember later too.

  2. I think this year we’re probably going to just take a cute picture and do e-cards. I never seem to be able to get snail mail cards out on time…or at all.

  3. We actually save our cards and use them to decorate our sukkah! The really pretty ones we laminate and keep from year-to-year. I can’t remember where I saw it, but some crafty blogger made an awesome bunting out of her cards. It’s one of my favorite decorations, actually 🙂

  4. Are we going to do dinner under the sukkah this year like we were going to last year and then I got sick? LOL! I don’t have place for a sukkah :S

    I was surprised to see Rosh Hashanah cards at the Dollar store – 50 cents each. I don’t send out as many as I use to & this was a wonderful surprise.

  6. I used your earlier deal from SeeHere and got 20 cards for like $1.50, then today I used the 5 Free cards from Snapfish deal (paid shipping, hope they get here on time) and I think that 25 might be just enough cards for me to send this year. I also pare down my list and only send the cards to people who really aren’t on facebook – like my aunts and such – or who live out of town and I want to make sure we keep in touch. That helps with the cost, too.
