Disclosure Statement

Hurry! This offer expires on June 30th! Head over to Amazon, where you can score a FREE 2-month subscription to Kindle Unlimited!

With your free subscription, you can read as much as you want — for FREE.

You don’t even need a Kindle – you can use the Kindle app to read on any mobile device.

We signed up for this offer back when they first had it in March and it was wonderful! I was surprised by how many excellent books were included with Kindle Unlimited — all of which you can read for free with this trial.

What books should you read with Kindle Unlimited?

Of course, everyone will want to look around, as there are soooo many e-books available to choose with your Kindle Unlimited subscription, but here are some of the titles that we’ve been enjoying:

Life of Pi  by Yann Martle. If you’ve never read this, it is an excellent book! I highly recommend it.

Number the Stars by Lois Lowry This is a beautifully written children’s novel about the Shoah. It’s not graphic, so a younger child could probably handle reading it. My 5th grade daughter read it earlier this year at school and found it really moving.

Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper. My daughter is reading this book right now and she loves it. (She and another friend are reading it as a book club, and they both think it’s great.) It reminds me a bit of Wonder, so if you/your kids liked that book, I think you/they will enjoy this one, too.

Born Survivors: Three Young Mothers and Their Extraordinary Story of Courage, Defiance, and Hope by Wendy Holden. This is based on the true story of three women and their infants who are born in Auschwitz, and survive. I’m reading this right now and wow, it’s very powerful.

When We Believed in Mermaids by Barbara O’Neal. I wouldn’t say that this book is a “light read” but it’s more in the “beach read” category than the “literature” one. I’ve enjoyed it though, and it’s a real page turner.

What do you get with Kindle Unlimited?

  • Enjoy unlimited access to over 1 million books.
  • Explore a rotating selection of popular magazines.
  • Listen to thousands of books with Audible narration.
  • Read anytime, on any device with the Kindle app.

*Tip: Be sure to cancel your subscription before the 2 months are up if you don’t wish to continue, or it will automatically renew at $9.99 per month. (Which frankly, I think is a bit expensive for what you get, but to each their own on that one!)

Even better, when I went to cancel my free trial at the end of the two months, I was offered another month for FREE! That gave us time to finish the books we were in the middle of! I can’t guarantee everyone will be offered an extra free month, but definitely a possibility!

Free Ebooks and AudioBooks

Check out this post if you’re interested in more ways to read & listen to books for cheap – or even free!

  1. If I cancel, say, after one month to ensure I don’t get charged for month #4, will the subscription continue until the end of the 3rd month? Or will they cancel it immediately?

    • I’m pretty sure it does. But I usually just set myself a reminder in Google calendar so I don’t forget to cancel this kind of stuff 🙂
