CVS Deals: Week of 12/5/10

CVS Deals 12/5/10

CVS has a sweet sale on Zhu Zhu pets. With coupons and sale, you can get 4 for the price of 1! My kids got a few of these guys this summer and while I don’t understand their appeal, some marketing guy is laughing all the way to the bank, that’s for sure! At this price, I’m planning to stock my gift bin.

Thanks so much to Crystal of The Thrifty Mama for her hard work in putting together all the match-ups at CVS week-in and week-out. I appreciate her letting me share my favorites with you and encourage you to check out her blog for the rest of this week’s CVS sales.

If you’re new to shopping at CVS, check out my How to Shop at CVS Tutorial… and my post from last week about why I recommend shopping at (seemingly overpriced) drugstores.

  1. I don’t understand how the zhu zhu pet deal is supposed to work. I brought 4 up to the register – paid for 2, 2 are free with the b1g1. Then I had the coupon, which was buy 2 get 1 free, so since I bought 2, I got a 5th one free. meaning 5 for the price of 2, not 4 for the price of 1. I don’t understand how you can pay for 1 and get 2 free with the BOGO sale and 1 free with the coupon?

    • Did you try it with four and the cashier wouldn’t allow it? Or you just brought up the 5th on your own?

Although I haven’t gotten to CVS yet, the logic is this:

2 are free with the BOGO sale & 1 is free with the B2G1 coupon. It’s the same way you can use a BOGO coupon with a BOGO sale and get both products for free.

Even 5 for the price of 2 is a pretty good deal! Be sure to read the manual for directions on how to shut those guys up. Their giggling noises can get annoying after a while 😉

      • I brought up 4 and when I gave the coupon he said I needed a 5th to use it. I don’t think you can get one free when you aren’t paying for the first. Logically it doesn’t seem to work. if you add up what you said above, you have to have 5.
