Easy Kosher BBQ Beef Recipe in the Slow Cooker

Easiest Slow Cooker BBQ Beef Recipe

I used to love puttering around the kitchen — dicing, mixing, measuring, making roux. (Yes, I made roux.)

Sometime between the first kid and the third, I gave up my love of puttering. Now I love easy. Quick. Simple.

Of course, I don’t want to feed my family a steady diet of frozen pizza, so I’ve had to figure out how to achieve that simplicity without compromising flavor.

This Easy Slow Cooker BBQ Beef Recipe fits the bill perfectly. It requires as few as two ingredients and takes less than two minutes to prepare!

Mind you, it also takes a good 7-8 hours to cook. But thanks to my slow cooker, I don’t have to be involved in that part of the process at all.

Tip: Don’t cook your beef on high, even for an hour. It will toughen up the beef and prevent you from being able to shred it. Ask me how I know!

We make this often for Shabbat dinner, serving it as BBQ beef as sliders with homemade coleslaw (I love the recipe in the Spice & Spirit Cookbook). And yes, we have sliders for Shabbat dinner on occasion. Don’t tell the Fancy Police.

If we want a slightly more sophisticated looking plate, though, I’ll serve it bun-less with a side of creamy mashed potatoes (or mashed cauliflower) and roasted Balsamic brussels sprouts. Even my very particular 6 year-old will gobble it up!

What’s your go-to easy meat recipe?

  1. Have you ever done this with chicken? We can’t eat red meat in our house.
    Thanks!
