Giveaway: Win One of 5 Luna Bar Gift Packs

Thank you to LUNA Protein for providing me a LUNA Protein sample pack to review. The opinions I’ve expressed here are solely my own and represent my honest viewpoint.

I’m trying something new for me today – I’m video blogging! Yup, this is me. In my post-Shabbat finest – a hoody and glasses, sans make-up. Very fancy, I tell ya!

Anyway, I’m posting my review of these rockin’ Luna protein bars today via video. (Did you hear that? That’s the sound of me {figuratively} biting my nails.)

(If you’re reading this via email and can’t see the video, click here to watch it.)

I totally forgot to mention in the video that you can typically get a great deal on Luna Bars – I’ve seen them for $.50 per bar or less after coupon and sale.

Would you like to win a Luna Bar Prize Pack? Good news!

I’ve got FIVE Luna Bar prize packs to give away to FIVE lucky winners. Each will enjoy five different flavored bars (all OU-D), plus a special little surprise, which I – oops! – gave away in my video.

Here’s how to enter:

1. Leave a comment telling me: Are you the type that forgets to eat? Or, are you more like me, and never forget to eat, but sometimes make rather poor choices. OR, are you super nutritious, always eating three balanced meals a day?

While the first entry is mandatory, you can also get additional entries by doing either or both of the following:

2. Subscribe to the Kosher on a Budget RSS feed or email newsletter – I promise, I won’t spam you! Then, leave a separate comment telling me you have done so.

3. Share this giveaway on either Twitter or Facebook: “Need a quick and tasty snack? Come win a LUNA Bar Prize pack from @KosheronaBudget. #cleverLUNA http://bit.ly/pjqM4b” Then come back and leave another separate comment telling me you have done so.

This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only (sorrry!) and will be open for one week, with comments closing on Sunday, September 4. If you can still enter, you can still win. The five winners will be notified on Monday, September 5.

Disclosure: This is a β€œsponsored post.” Please click here to learn more about LUNA Protein. I was selected (and paid) for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective. Regardless, I only share reviews of products that I have personally used and/or feel would be a good fit for my readers. All opinions are my own. #cleverLUNA

  1. the video was great~ and the chocolate mint gifts sound wonderful! I sometimes forget to eat as I take care of others first πŸ™‚

  2. Due to my crazy work schedule I have to be out of my house super early in the morning. If i dont prepare breakfast & lunch the night before i have to grab what i got in the pantry- usually lots of unhealthy carbs…. Luna bars are great because its healthy & lots of protein, which we all need!!

  3. I looove Luna! (But have not yet seen these Luna proteins!)
I am totally a forget to eat person. I notice when my blood sugar drops and then I feel like I’m gonna pass out. Not a super good thing.

  4. Stuart Stein says

usually forget to prepare to eat and therfore make poor decisions as good ones are not as easily available at the time of eating.

  5. I am definitly like you and usually am busy taking care of others and am too busy to eat healthy meals.

  6. i eat super nutritiously when i remember! otherwise, i snack. and sometimes, i just don’t have the time. i buy bars and use them for us (as meal replacement) and give them to the kids as snacks and treats – i just tried these bars last week for the first time! we had the Cookie Dough – super delish!!! love the video! thanks, mara!

  7. Sometimes I forget to eat-especially when I am feeding everyone else! Love the video format!!

  8. hey there… I think the video is very cool πŸ™‚ My son kept trying to say hi to you…he is 4…he is used to Skype with his grandparents in Israel…so I think that is why. Anyway, I do not usually forget to eat, although it may happen every now and then when I am super busy…but I make pretty bad choices because I am to busy to do anything healthy and good for me…I am going to try these bars…Motzei Shabbos is a hard one for us too…
    thanks for all you do.
    Daniella

    • Oh my gosh, that is so cute with your son – thank you for telling me that. Made my day! πŸ™‚

  9. I don’t forget to eat, but my lunches have been notoriously lame throughout my whole life. (See plain cream cheese sandwiches while everyone else actually prepares lunch…)

  10. and I already subscribe to the emails!

  11. I don’t forget to eat. I just run out of time and have to eat breakfast (usually a Luna bar!) in the car on the way to school.

  12. I never forget to eat… i subscribed to ur emails πŸ™‚

  13. I’m super nutritious six days a week! I love Luna bars for when I don’t have time to eat a whole salad.

  14. I subscribe to Kosher on a Budget via Google Reader RSS.

  15. I updated my Facebook status, too.

  16. My friend just showed me your website and I love it! You’re the best!
I’m the type the forgets to eat :/ . I’m a full-time student and I live off-campus so going home for lunch usually takes the backseat. I don’t eat on campus because I keep kosher, so I will usually bring a Luna or Cliff bar, and a fruit with me to campus.

  17. I usually eat, but sometimes it’s not the healthiest

  18. Is it ok to say that I am kind of lazy when it comes to preparing food for work/road/later and end up having to find anything that is kosher in a neighborhood where I am basically the only kosher keeper. Let me tell you, a package of mini frosted donuts and a V8 drink is not my idea of a healthy and delicious lunch, if only I could get myself in the lunch making groove.

  19. I forget to eat lunch, and by the time I realize it, it’s too late to go anywhere. And then I end up hungry AND cranky.

  20. I never forget to eat, but I don’t make very nutritious choices πŸ™ After making lunches for everyone else, I just have no energy to make lunch for myself… I’m hoping to change that with better lunch meal planning, but I know it’ll take a little work.

  21. I love the white chocolate macadamia nut flavor
    My daughter does too….

I try to eat well, but when I can’t, I don’t always make the smartest choices

  22. Forget to eat? Not bloody likely…. πŸ˜‰
But I don’t always make the best choices. I prefer carbs and don’t always prioritize the proteins. These bars would be great post workout.

  23. Lauren Gerofsky says

I am on my way back to work at school; my 2 boys go back soon too. This just makes for crazy schedules when you add in soccer, baseball, and Hebrew School! I would love these to hang on to for those days when meals and snacks get all messed up. I also think I may share a few with my friend preparing for gastric bypass surgery. She would enjoy the change to taste-test a few, I suspect. Thanks for all your great info always.

  24. I usually never forget to eat but my choices may not be the best. I do try to fit in veggies and fruits every day. My daily attempts are not also met though with everything else going on during the day. Luna bars may be the right choice to eat when I can get those 3 balanced meals a day.

  25. I am also a subscriber and tweeted about the giveaway πŸ™‚

  26. We don’t forget meals here, but I do keep multiple flavors of Luna bars for various children to choose to have as or with meals.

  27. Poor choices are my problem, or trying to do too much. I try to keep a Luna bar in my bag so I don’t end up eating chips.

  28. I wish I would forget to eat sometime, but it NEVER happens!

  29. Mara, wonderful video (great to SEE you!) and please, I’m not the type who forgets to eat, and believe me, it shows. And I’m a FB fan. And I like Luna bars. (And mint chocolate chip ice cream is crazygood, fyi.)

  30. I never “forget” to eat, but I definitely procrastinate eating until I’m practically starving or getting a headache. This often happens when I am super busy running around or when I am not really interested in whatever is available to eat. I started using protein shakes for this reason = quick, nutritious and tasty. I think the Luna bars would be a great substitute for when I am not working from home. Do you happen to have access to coupons???!!! btw, great job on the video post – it was nice to “meet” you πŸ˜‰

  31. I subscribe to your feed/newsletter.

  32. I posted on facebook πŸ™‚

  33. I cannot figure out how I manage to make breakfast and pack lunches for four kids and a husband, and yet I arrive at work with no breakfast and no lunch for me. Surely I should be able to make one more breakfast and pack one more lunch. Yet it never happens. I am very fortunate that my job offers a subsidized kosher lunch for $3.00. But I am so hungry all morning. Luna protein bars would make a wonderful breakfast.

  34. I never forget to eat!

Hey Mara! great vid — umm, i do forget to eat on occasion when i’m super busy and my blood sugar drops and i need to eat something, anything, stat; more often than not, it’s just a chore to fix something that takes effort for just myself when i’m pouring energy into other stuff (like preparing healthy meals for the family as a whole). I have not tried luna bars yet, but they sound like a convenient option on the go! thanks for the offer!!!

  37. forget lunch until I get shaky!

  38. Miriam in savannah says

just subscribed — love your blog; i’ve been following it ever since a friend posted something with a link to it on facebook. Between having lived in the midwest for a few years and a fellow dave ramsey “talmida” your advice really resonates with me. thanks again!!

  39. Miriam in savannah says

my facebook status now announces this luna giveaway too!

  40. I never remember to eat. Two jobs, three dogs and a strict work out routine means I am never home to cook!

  41. I am a combo of the first two, I forget to eat AND I make poor choices. For myself, cuz my family gets fed nutritious meals and I suffer the silence of a Jewish mother πŸ˜› Ugh.

  42. I subscribe to the RSS feed.

  43. I don’t forget to eat, but I sometimes wait way too long, and then make very unwise choices.

  44. I am usually a nutritious eater, but when I am working (the night shift) I crave chocolate and carbs. Then when I get home in the morning, I either can’t eat breakfast, or need a quick and easy shake or bar before heading to bed.

  45. I am guilty of both – forgetting to eat and making bad choices. It all depends on the day πŸ˜‰ I used to eat protein bars all the time and got out of the habit in part because I was disappointed with many of the bars I tried. Looking forward to tasting these after your enthusiastic review!

  46. I just subscribed to your newsletter!

  47. I eat regular meals and never forget to eat. If I could I would snack all day. I have a protein bar usually once a day but haven’t tried Luna before. I usually have Nature Valley or Kashi. If I could live off of one food it would be cheese, totally random I know but maybe it’ll help me win!

  48. I make pretty healthy choices, usually eating about 7 meals a day πŸ™‚ I love these bars for a quick breakfast at work.

  49. I am definitely guilty of forgetting to eat. Loved the vlog, btw. And I’ve been noshing on Cliff bars lately, so I would gladly take some Luna bars and add them to the mix! Yes, please!

  50. I already subscribe via email. πŸ™‚
