Jingit Debit Card – How to Get the Card Without Entering Your Social Security Number

I’ve got exciting news for those of you earning money at home with Jingit!

Once you hit $3 in your Jingit account (should happen within a day – two at the most), you can get your Jingit debit card.

The card is sent to you in 5-10 days, and after that, your earnings can automatically be added to the card. Your first $3 go to the fee to open the debit card (annoying, I know) – but it’s straight from the money you earned watching the ads, so there is no out of pocket for you.

The application form asks for you to enter your social security number and it has an asterisks (*) beside it, which means it’s not optional.

The reason your social security number is required is to prevent fraud — they don’t run a security check since this is a debit card. It’s the same reason you needed a social security number on all those free American Express gift cards this summer.

Regardless, a number of you expressed concern with entering your social security number to get the Jingit debit card – which I totally understand. So, this morning, I tried a little something.

Instead of entering my actual social security number, I entered all zeros. 000-00-0000. Here’s a screen shot:

The first time I submitted my form this way, it said I wasn’t approved. So I tried it again – again denied.

I decided to try it one more time (third time’s the charm) and IT WORKED! I got approved and my card is on the way. 🙂

So, here’s my take-away:

When you are ready to get your Jingit debit card (i.e. have $3 or more in your account), try entering zeros for your social security number. Do it three times – since the first two times, it probably won’t accept your application without a real number.

Let me know if it works for you, too!

(I’m pretty careful about ID theft, but I would have entered my real social security number on this – since it’s a bank site with https. That said, I totally get why some of you wouldn’t want to. Hopefully this “work-around” works for you, too!)

Thanks for the tip, Freebies 4 Mom.

  1. Worked for me the 3rd time too! Thanks! My problem is…I know it sounds silly, but I can’t figure out how to access the ads to watch! So far, the $3 I have earned (and now used lol) I have had to link through your page…any help would be appreciated! 🙂

  2. I also figured this out, after reading the cardholder agreement, which mentioned two types of cards, one with a ssn requirement, and one without. The non-SSN card has some more restrictions, but works in a similar fashion. Thanks for posting this!
