Cook Kosher: Upload 10 Recipes, Get $10 Amazon Gift Card

Have you guys heard about website, Cook Kosher? It is a new kosher recipe site – and I love it!

Similar to AllRecipes or RecipeZaar, Cook Kosher members contribute their own recipes – and can rate and comment on other recipes.

Then the rest of us can search through these tried-and-true recipes for all of our kosher culinary needs. Of course, on Cook Kosher, all the recipes are KOSHER!

I got to meet the founder of Cook Kosher, Leah Schapira, at KosherFest last month and she has amazing insights into the needs of the busy kosher cook. She’s also a true force of nature: I don’t know where she finds the energy, but she is clearly bursting with creativity and culinary inspiration!

Knowing how much KOABers love cooking AND saving money, Leah has made us a very generous offer:

Join Cook Kosher (it’s free, of course) – upload 10 of your kosher recipes, and earn a $10 gift card to

This special promotion will last throughout the month of December. Upload your 10 recipes by December 31 and get your $10 gift card to Amazon – it’s that simple!

Click THIS SPECIAL LINK to join Cook Kosher. If you don’t go through this link, they won’t know you’re a KOAB reader and you won’t be able to earn your $10 credit.

At the top right, click the REGISTER NOW link, then fill in your detail. Cook Kosher will send you a verification email, so be sure to click on the email and confirm your free membership to the site.

{Update: If you are already a member of Cook Kosher, you can still qualify for the $10 gift card! Go ahead and click THIS LINK – it will let them know you are coming from KOAB, then upload 10 new recipes between now and December 31, and qualify for your gift card!}

Okay, now that you’re a member, it’s time to start uploading your recipes.

I just uploaded my Crunchy Sesame Tofu recipe and it was easy peasy. Didn’t even take 5 minutes!

Whether it’s a traditional family pot roast, or your favorite pasta dish from the Barefoot Contessa, as long as the recipe is kosher (at least your version of it), it’s fair game. Here’s how it works:

  • Click on the blue box at the top right that says Add Recipe +
  • Name and describe your recipe; fill in all the ingredients and prepration steps – be sure to complete all the required boxes
  • At the bottom, you can tell others how long your recipe takes to make (or just fill out 0 if you’re not sure) and make it easier to find by categorizing it.
  • You can even check off which bracha you say for your dish – although that’s optional, so don’t worry if you’re not sure if it’s mezonot or shehakol. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  • If you have a picture of your dish, great – upload it! Otherwise, just skip that step. I’ve noticed that about 2/3rds of the recipes don’t have pictures, so that’s definitely not required (although it is nice to include if you have one).
  • Press Submit and voila! Your recipe is live and you are 1/10th of the way to your FREE Amazon $10 gift card!

I hope you’ll join the Cook Kosher community – and start sharing all your great recipes (and, of course, earning your $10 gift card!). You can find me on CookKosher with the handle kosheronabudget!

  1. Quick question: what if we’ve already joined Cook Kosher (and, say, already rated a recipe posted above…)?

    • Good question. I’m almost sure you can still get the credit if you click thru that link, but let me confirm that with Leah.

  2. The link didn’t work for me.

  3. When I clicked “this special link” above, I got the message, “Illegal variable _files or _env or _get or _post or _cookie or _server or _session or globals passed to script..”

  4. B”H

I posted 10 recipes, how do i get my amazon gift card?

  5. is it a one time offer or as many times as you can do? ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. i just did it. i am excited to use this website. its a great way to store and share my recipes. do i have to email someone to get the gift card?

    • Leah will be go throwing the emails once a night and emailing updates to everyone who has completed their recipes.

  7. This is great! I’ve uploaded 10 recipes and since the website is new, most of mine are completely different than anything already there. Since I often sift through online recipes and kosherize them, this is a great place to store the changes so others can find TT recipes and skip the uncertainty of substitution!

  8. Great resource – I added my ten recipes today. Looking forward to seeing everyone else’s! (And, of course, to getting my gift card…)

  9. I uploaded 10 recipes last week. Do they have to be verified? Is there any way to find out?

  10. OK – delete my comment. Just found a $10 Amazon giftcard in my inbox. ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. can I still receive gift cards for uploading recipes?
