Kosher on a Budget is Coming to Chicago!

Hey Chicagoans! I’m thrilled to announce that I will be teaching a two-part series on budgeting, saving money and couponing in Chicago the first week of August.

Hosted by the ARK, the classes will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 and Thursday, August 4, 2011 from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. Attend one or both of the classes, whatever fits your schedule and interests.

August 2: Saving Fundamentals

Do you want to save 25-30% at the grocery store without ever clipping a coupon? Kosher on a Budget blogger Mara Strom will teach you how to fill your fridge & pantry while sticking to a smaller budget. Strategies will include price books, sale cycles, and menu plans.

August 4: Strategic Couponing

Ready to kick your grocery savings into high gear? Learn how to fill your cart for FREE or pennies on the dollar. Mara will teach you how to save 50% or more on your grocery and household budget through strategic couponing. Plus, learn the secrets of shopping for free at CVS and Walgreens.

The ARK will be charging a nominal fee of $8 per class, or $15 for both classes.

Bring non-perishable food items to donate to the ARK’s food pantry and get a raffle ticket for each item. Fun prizes, including a month’s worth of Chicago Tribune coupon inserts, courtesy of my awesome reader, Becky!

Register online at www.arkchicago.org (click on “Maximize Your Grocery Dollars”). On the enrollment form, be sure to use the pull-down menu to select the class date or dates that you want to attend.

Seating will be limited, so I recommend signing up early!

The address of The Ark building is 6450 N. California Ave., Chicago, IL 60645. Limited parking lot space is available, and there is meter parking on California or free parking on side streets. The California bus (#93) drops off right in front.
