Rosh Hashana Giveaway Week, Day #2: Shalom Sesame High Holiday Set

Shalom Sesame has just released two new DVDs in time for the High Holidays: The Sticky Shofar and Monsters in the Sukkah. The Shalom Sesame DVDs were so popular with readers at Purim time, that I asked the good Shalom folks if they’d be willing to give away another set — and guess what they said?! 🙂

In the Sticky Shofar, Avigail discovers that honey is sweet — but very, very sticky. Grover, Avigail and Brosh learn a valuable lesson in friendship and forgiveness, just in time to start the new year right!

In Monsters in the Sukkah, Avigail and Brosh’s plans to welcome their guests come crashing down with their sukkah. (I guess they didn’t have a The Sukkah Project sukkah ;-).) Of course, with a little help from their Sesame friends, all will be well- just in time for the chag!

Our kids are really enjoying these sweet DVDs – the Hebrew is authentic (which is pretty important me!), and they are full of wonderful cross-cultural references to these special holiday times. I especially love the cameos from all the traditional Sesame Street characters – as well as, of course, the return of lovable little Avigail (she’s my favorite).

In fact, even though it’s usually my two-year old daughter asking for Elmo (her name for all Sesame characters) — while my almost 6- and 8-year old sons kvetch about not watching Transformers — the older ones are sitting riveted while their sister is off playing with her toys.

In other words, elementary school-age kids might not be the target audience, but they certainly do enjoy these Shalom Sesame DVDs! (And even this kid-at-heart mom enjoys them as well – a huge plus for any kids’ DVD in my book.)

If you would like to win this two-DVD set of Shalom Sesame for the High Holidays, please simply leave a comment on this post with the name of your favorite kids’ DVD.

Sorry, but this giveaway is open to U.S. residents only.

Each day this week, I am hosting one (and in some cases two) Rosh Hashana giveaways. The giveaways will be open until next Tuesday, September 20 at 11:59 CST. The winners of all the giveaways will be announced next Wednesday.

Disclaimer: Shalom Sesame provided me with one copy of each of these DVDs to facilitate my review. Shalom Sesame’s U.S. distributor will provide and ship the DVD set directly to the winner. I was not otherwise compensated for running this giveaway. All positive opinions of Shalom Sesame are my own.
