Target Post-Christmas Clearance Starts Tomorrow – Here’s What to Look For

As much as I love the post-Halloween sales, I triple love  post-Christmas clearance sales – especially at Target!

If previous years are any indication, stores will begin marking down Christmas and “seasonal” items by 30 – 50% tomorrow, and then go to 75% the following week. There may be a few stragglers left that actually make it to 90%, but most everything will sell out before then.

Toys, lights (think Sukkah lighting), and Rubbermaid tubs with green or red lids are just a few of my annual favorites. But the post-Christmas clearance is also great for some ‘non-traditional’ finds as well.

Here’s a round-up of what I suggest you keep an eye out for, plus a number of coupons you can use to sweeten your savings. Remember, you can stack Target coupons with manufacturer coupons to save even more!

Be sure to let us know – either on this post or the Facebook wall – what killer deals you find, and when your stores go down to 75% off.

Household Goods & Paper Supplies

Look for paper towels, napkins, paper plates and cups, glad wrap, tinfoil and Ziplock bags with “holiday” themes. This may mean they are red and green, or they may have snowflakes or trees on them. Frankly, if it’s 75% off (+ a coupon) and will cover/store my food, I’m good with a little theme!

Here are some coupons you may want to print and/or clip and bring with you to sweeten your savings:

Food & Beverage

From candy to baking supplies to coffee, all sorts of groceries can hae holiday ‘themes’ – which means they will go on clearance after said holidays. Here are some coupons that will help you save even more

Personal Care & Baby

I can’t be the only one who noticed all those Santa-themed diapers. If you don’t mind putting them on your babe’s bum, there will no doubt be some nice savings this week at Target! Be sure to scope out the rest of the personal care aisles, too – everything from body wash gift sets to tissues to handsoap may be marked down. Look on the end caps, but also check for the red clearance tag on items on the regular shelves.

My personal strategy this year is going to be to scout out household & paper goods – once they drop down to 75% off. Typically I go right away to grab some of the toys, but we are still well-stocked from the summer deals. And truthfully, I don’t *need* anything (other than some paper towel), so anything I do find will be for stockpiling.

Comments

  1. I’m going to try and stock up on those Axe sets! I don’t understand why all men bathe in Axe, but when I can get it cheap, yay!!

  2. I’m going to guess that they probably don’t have X-mas themed toilet paper on clearance?

  3. you can get beautiful shabbos tablecloths for 7.49 in the clearance section – this year’s is a nice leaf pattern! there is also wrapping paper that is more neutral (silver, black andwhite) that is very cheap..

  4. I just got back from Target. Everything was at 50% already and fairly picked over. Although the Target I went to is a smaller one, so maybe the Super Targets still have more stuff. I did pick up some more lights for our Sukkah and a few Hanukah things.
