Welcome Haveil Havalim Readers

Hello readers of the Haveil Havalim carnival! Welcome 🙂

I’m so honored to have been included in my first edition! If you are new to my blog and looking for the It’s Not Just the Kosher Food, It’s Expensive Being Jewish post, please click here.

I’m glad you clicked over and I hope you’ll stick around a while. I blog primarily about being a Jewish frugalista, which means you can expect to see a lot of posts about saving money on groceries, school supplies, and other household items.

One of my biggest strategies for spending only $400-$500 a month on food and household items is to practice strategic shopping — i.e. combining coupons with sale prices and stocking up when the price reaches my “buy now” value.

If your food budget is out of control, but you think using coupons is too much work, check out my series on coupon misconceptions. It just might change your mind!

And if you want some proof that you really can save — and save big — you may enjoy reading about some of my best deal shopping ventures, like the time I spent just $1.07 for $105 worth of merchandise at CVS.

I also host a weekly Kosher on a Budget recipe exchange. Each week has a different theme. This past Friday, I shared my Rosh Hashana round apple challah recipe. You can see all the recipe archives here.

Once again, I’m glad you found me and I hope you’ll come back soon! I love comments, so please feel free to give me a shout!

  1. Being frugal and kosher is quite a challenge, one most of us face. The truth is that the more I use fresh vegetables and don’t used prepared, the better I do.
