Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockinbird — I read this a few years ago with my middle one and it’s definitely a challenging read, literarily and topically, which is why I list it under high schoolers even though many read it in middle school
John Green’s Turtles All the Way Down — This book really touched my heart, I highly recommend it!
