What better way to celebrate Israel’s Independence Day than with a giveaway of one of Israel’s most popular exports – The SodaStream!
My husband has been chalashing after one of these for 15 years. Seriously – that long.
Back in the day, SodaStream was only available in Israel. And they were the sponsor of Jersualem’s HaPoel Basketball, his favorite team. He went to the games, hoping to win a SodaStream, but always came home empty-handed.
Well, imagine our delight when SodaStream offered to not only give away a soda maker to a KOAB reader… but also to send one to our house. Winners at last!
Now, I’ve mentioned before that Coca-Cola is my guilty pleasure. I especially love a fountain Coke, full of all that sweet, fizzing carbonation.
So, while I knew that my husband and kids would love the SodaStream, I wasn’t sure if the soda maker would do it for this Coke fiend.
Let’s just say – I have been very pleasantly surprised!
Is it the same thing as a fountain Coke? No. But it definitely has the right blend of sweet and fizz! And when I pour it over crushed ice and drink it through a straw… it completely hits the spot.
Plus, a SodaStream cola made at home is 35 calories per 8 ounces, while a Coca-Cola has 97 calories in the same 8 ounces.
SodaStream goes way beyond cola flavor, though – they offer a huge range of flavors. There are traditional one – like root beer, lemon-lime and orange – all of which come in regular and diet varieties. And there are fruity flavors – such as pink grapefruit, orange pineapple, black currant and pear, and apple mango.
You can even make sparkling teas and energy drinks.
All flavors are certified kosher and completely free of high fructose corn-syrup. There are a number flavors that are naturally caffeine-free, as well.
The SodaStream soda maker is super easy to use. Just fill up the BPA-free bottle with tap or filtered water, screw the bottle onto the soda maker, and give it a few pumps to fill the water with carbonation. There are no batteries and no electronics – it can even be used on Shabbat.
Thanks to SodaStream USA, one lucky KOAB reader will win a Fountain Jet Soda Lover’s Start-Up Kit of their own – retail value $99.95.
The Start-Up Kit includes:
- Fountain Jet – in the winner’s choice of color (black/silver, red/silver or white)
- 1 carbonating bottle, reusable for up to 3 years
- Reusable carbonator to fizz up to 60L of soda
- Variety 6-pack of popular sample-size flavors
- 3 full-sized flavors of the winner’s choice
