I remember when I first learned about buying new clothes for yomtov, so you can say a shehecheyanu.
I was 17. It was kind of an eye-opening moment.
“I gotta go to the mall, Mom!”
Now a few decades later, all this new clothes buying could be a little stressful for a frugalista like me. Until, of course, I realized that new clothes doesn’t have to mean full price.
Now, I get the mitzvah and a great deal. Win-win!
If you’ve been reading Kosher on a Budget for any amount of time, you know that I have certain stores that I love for finding the very best deals. And when it comes to shoes for the whole family, 6pm.com is definitely one of those stores.
But did you know that 6pm offers way more than just an amazing selection of shoes (discounted as much as 80% off? And speaking of which, did you happen to see this week’s clearance selection? $150 shoes for $25!)
6pm has clothing and outerwear for the whole family. In fact, I just did a good bit of virtual “new clothes for Rosh Hashana” shopping for my kids and myself over on 6pm!
Here are some of my favorites.
I big puffy heart love this Primigi White and Navy Tier Dress for girls. And, just an FYI, if you’re in to dressing your girls the same, this comes in toddler, little girl and big girl sizes. (Too bad I can’t get my boys to go for that idea.) It’s $34.95, originally $67.
Of course I had to go searching for navy girls shoes to complete the cuteness.
I thought these Pampili Mary Janes would be perfect! ($22.99, regularly $42)
For my boys, I was loving this Calvin Klein Kids Single-Breasted Navy Pin Stripe Suit (you may have to enlarge the image to see the pinstripes – they are subtle, just the way I like ’em!). They have sizes up to a 20, which is good – since my 9 year-old is already wearing 12s! The suit is $75 (originally $152), so I’m thinking yomtov and beyond (Bar Mitzvah?).
For me, I am smitten with this Tahari by ASL Howard dress in Bio Red. Just add a shell and I should be ready to go. The dress is available in papaya (which is a pretty peachy orange color). It’s on sale for $45, originally $129.
And shoes? Not a problem. I just searched for black dress shoes from 6pm’s clearance link – and all I know is, I may have to break my no-heel rule. (These Sasha Peep Toe Pumps are by Rockport, so they’ll be comfortable, right? They are $45.50, regularly $130. And yes, they do have them in red – if you’re bolder than me.)
For my husband, I spied a number of button up dress shirts to make that old suit new again, including Michael Kors, Perry Ellis, Calvin Klein and more, starting from $19.99 (originally $60).
Now as fun as this little virtual fashion show has been, you know what I thought would be even more fun?
Giving one lucky KOAB reader a $100 gift card to 6pm.com so that they put on their own REAL fashion show!
Buy yourself some new shoes, dresses, shirts, suits – whatever your heart desires! And don’t forget – 6pm.com has free standard shipping on all orders.
