IMPORTANT UPDATE: Despite fact that it’s only 10:15 pm CST on 12/2, it looks like Capital One has ended this offer a little bit early. I’m sorry – I’m sure you’re disappointed if you were not able to get it in time. : (

This is one of my very favorite “deals” of the year. Because this one isn’t just about saving money. It’s about MAKING money.

Through tomorrow, December 2, Capital One 360 is offering you a $125 bonus when you open an online checking.

Open a 360 Checking account by December 2nd and earn a $125 bonus

  • This has to be your first 360 Capital One checking account – if you previously had an ING checking account, you are not eligible for this promotion.
  • Make a total of 5 debit card purchases (either signature or PIN-based) or 5 CheckMate S deposits (or any combination of the two) within 45 days.
  • Your $125 bonus will be automatically deposited into your account on day 50.
  • You will earn interest on your cash balance.

There are no minimum deposit requirements on the checking account and absolutely no fees. Just open it, make your five debit card purchases and receive your $125 on Day 50.

We personally bank at Capital One and are BIG fans of this bank. I adore our checking account, which I call our virtual envelope system. It’s perfect for those of us that can’t seem to make cash envelopes work for them.

You can also earn a earn a $75 bonus when you open a Capital One Savings Account

  • This has to be your first 360 Savings (including Orange Savings Accounts) account and it needs a $500 minimum initial deposit or more
  • The bonus starts earning interest on day 1, but you can’t take it out for at least 30 days.
