Kansas City People: Trader Joe’s Is Coming to Town!

Kansas City to Get 2 Trader Joe's in 2011

I can not understate my squealing-outloud-when-I-heard enthusiasm for this news!!!!!!!!! My friend Megan was the first to break it to me, and then I found this very official looking story to confirm that Trader Joe’s is going to open two stores in 2011 in the KC Metro Area. One will be right by the kosher Hen House at 4201 W. 119th Street and the other will be on Ward Parkway in the old Staples store.

And the news just keeps getting better because:

1. As far as I know, TJ stores do take manufacturer coupons on the limited number of  non-store brand items they sell, including Stoneyfield yogurt, Morningstar patties, and Kashi cereal!

2. TJs has an extensive inventory of kosher products, which you can see on this link (it’s a PDF file, so you will need to have Adobe Acrobat installed to read it.)

So, who else is super psyched? What TJ items can’t you wait to add to your grocery list?

Comments

  1. yay I’m so excited. it will be my first time living near one – in nj it was 1/2 hour away. I love their soups and pasta sauces especially!

  2. I love Trader Joe’s. I have a top ten post about it. It would be very hard for me to move somewhere without a TJ. I do my weekly shopping there, and only occasionally visit WF or Safeway.

    • Thanks for stopping by, Betsy! Link for your top 10 post? I am so thrilled TJs is coming. My 15 mo daughter, who is not a very big eater, loves their yogurt covered star cookies! I’m sure we are going to find many family favorites there!
