Shavua Tov! (And link to KC Star article)

Sorry to disappear from the blog for 50 whole hours! I missed you guys! Yesterday was a ca-razy day, getting ready for a visit from the kids’ grandparents, frying 130 sufganiyot for my son’s pre-K class, and cooking for Shabbat.

Then in the afternoon, as I was finally heading to post my Recipe Exchange, I fell walking up the stairs (rush much, Mara?) and jammed my finger so badly I couldn’t even type!

It’s all nasty, swollen and black and blue, but I’m trying not to be too much of a baby about it. (Some might saying “trying but failing miserably!”) But seriously, who falls walking up the stairs?!

In much more interesting news, that article I mentioned about frugal Hanukkah celebrations appeared in today’s Kansas City Star. I’m linking to the story, but it includes the full name of my kids, which I’ve been rather cautious about sharing on the blog. So, please don’t stalk them, okay?

I’m really pleased with how it turned out — the newspaper version actually had three photos, including one of the whole family lighting our chanukiot and one of my daughter opening a present from her grandparents. And, although the story was in the Religion section, the teaser photo was actually on the front page, which my kids thought was THE COOLEST thing in the world!

I read the story outloud to them and when I got to the part about KOAB, my oldest was so thrilled he exclaimed: “Oooh, Mommy, your blog is gonna be famous!” From his lips to G-d’s ears!

Let me know what you think — and for my KC friends, if you saw it in your paper today.

Gotta feed the munchkins dinner, and then I’ll be back with CVS deals (buy 4-get-1-free Zhu Zhu pets tomorrow!) and hopefully a few other hot deals as well.
