Amazon has officially announced that their Prime Big Deal Days (aka the Second Prime Day of the year!) will be happening on October 8-9, 2023.
Some of you might remember that last year, this second Prime Day sale was the 10th and 11th of October, and obviously none of us were in the mindset to be shopping for deals after October 7th.
My husband and I therefore made the decision to donate 50% of my Amazon profits that month to charities here in Israel and I was able to donate $1004.32.
I never would have thought that almost a year later we’d still in the midst of this… waking nightmare, with 101 hostages still held in unthinkable conditions, over 800 Israeli soldiers killed and some 70,000 Israelis still unable to return to their homes in the north and the south.
Many of you know that since early in the war, I’ve been working with a group of very dedicated KOAB donors to provide army gear (just last week, we purchased another pair of tactical boots for a soldier going in for his third round of reserves in Gaza), and to support our civilians (on Sunday and Monday we sponsored two women who have become war widows this year so they could participate in a special Bar Mitzvah program for moms and their bar mitzvah age sons who have lost their dads in the Swords of Iron War).
While the needs here in Israel are less harried, they haven’t subsided. Therefore I have decided that I will continue this (saddest) tradition from last year and donate 50% of my profits from the Amazon Prime Days 2 to the KOAB Helping Israel efforts.

Of course, I hope there will be a hot book deal (who doesn’t love a book deal??). And I’m hearing a lot of other juicy rumors, but I want to run it all done and make sure it’s triple verified before I post.
