FREE National Park Admission All Year (For Families with a 4th Grader)

Every Kid In A Park

I was very excited when I saw this program pop up in my feed — and even more excited when I realized… I am going to have a 4th grader next year!!

(Why they picked 4th grade, I do not know – but I’m happy nonetheless!)

For the 2015-2016 school year, the Every Kid in a Park initiative will provide a free annual pass to national parks (value: $80) for all US families with a fourth grader. The pass will grant admission to more than 2,000 federal recreation sites, including national parks like Yellowstone, Yosemite and the Grand Canyon.

The goal of this new initiative is to get all 4th graders and their families out to experience the places that are home to our country’s natural treasures, rich history, and vibrant culture FREE OF CHARGE!

If you won’t have a fourth grader in the house next year, you can still take advantage of the National Park Service’s fee-free weekends, hosted throughout the year. The next one will be the weekend of April 18-19, which kicks off National Parks week.
