You may recall that back in May, I told you about a Heartsy deal for Specifically Random, an artisan who makes adorable head coverings and hair bands. She sews a fabric-covered elastic headband to the covering with the most perfect little (almost invisible!) stitches. My daughter is always tugging on my head coverings and there is no pulling or stretching whatsoever.
- There is plenty of fabric – The babushkas are 15″ from front to back, so when you pull out the fabric all the way, they more than cover the back of your head entirely. If you’d rather show some hair, you can just bunch of the fabric a bit in the back.
- The babushka style is very comfortable – As soon as I got my package, I put the vintage fabric one on and wore it all day (and got numerous compliments on it). I didn’t even feel it on me, which is really saying something, because I tend to get a headache by the end of the day from even wearing a beret.

Do note that because this style is not fully closed in the back, it’s possible that some of your hair will be showing in the back. i always wear hats to shul and have a little collection. i would love to wear babushkas and tichels more regularly, but they never stay on well…probably because i don’t really know how to tie them.

She is getting the Mustard yellow headbabnd as a gift for her birthday…Shhh, don’t tell her! I like to cover my head with a brown crochet headband or a tatted oval (I call it a headcovering). They both blend into my hair, without attracting too much attention, but also cover. Thanks!

I love my tichels and bandanas. I think I have almost every color. Head covering is extremely personal and everyone should make their own choice but these headbands looks awesome.
I wear hats at shul….Even though I don’t cover my head all the time, I do like wearing baseball caps!

My favorite hair covering right now is a beret I got from Target. It looks a little bit snood-like, and a bit trendy since I keep my bangs out. Most importantly it is super comfortable.
