As many of you have noticed, a number of the office supply stores are running their deals regionally this summer. I think this is because they are staggering sales depending on when certain regions head back to school. Kansas City seems to be running one to two weeks ahead of other areas – which makes sense, since our public schools go back in just a week.

In the northeast, Staples finally has pocket folders on sale for 1 cent each with a $5 purchase. There’s a limit of 10, but teachers can buy 25 and it includes Hebrew-school teachers.
Staples (KC region) – The zebra pencils rang up 2.99 instead of 3.99 per the ad. I mention it in case you’re using it to build your $5 min purchase for the spiral notebooks. You’ll be short $1 when you get to the register.
Also, the Hammermill paper is 4.99 (pre-rebate) so it won’t be enough for your $5 min. purchase. Remember, the penny deals don’t count for your total. If you want something inexpensive to pair with it (besides a 2nd ream of paper) you can price match the dime Papermate pens from the Office Max ad.
If anyone needs Ticonderoga pencils (my daughter’s school requires them, no substitutions) Costco seems to have the best price on them. $8.40 for 8 dozen. Not a bargain, but about 1/2 the price of almost anywhere else I’ve seen them. I hate having to spend so much on pencils, but I have to say, they’re so much better than the cheapo ones. No more lead falling out right after you sharpen it, I think I might be done with the cheap pencils.
