Sukkot Giveaway #2: Festive Table Setting (for 32) + Sukkah Decorations

I’m usually a “real” dishes person. Sure, sometimes laziness takes over and I want to use disposables, but the vast majority of Shabbatot are served on our real dishes.

But when it comes to Sukkot, all my real dishology flies out the window. I want take-and-toss and nothing else for our al fresco dining. Usually I just pick up a huge honking package at Costco and call it a day. Sometimes, though, I want to go a little upscale – and when that happens, I am usually aghast at the cost.

Enter Factory Direct Party. They have everything from plain old plastic plates to high end fancy ones, plus everything and anything else you could need for your chag: Foil pans, garbage bags, wine glasses, serving platters and bowls, decorations, and more.

Their factory-direct prices are extremely competitive – and in most cases, beat Costco. Plus, you get to pick your patterns and colors, and you can have it all delivered to your door – for FREE if you order over $50 and use the promo code KOAFS11.

But one lucky KOAB reader won’t need to buy anything for serving meals during Sukkot because he or she will win a complete two-meal setting for 16 (32 total) of high end disposable tableware and Sukkah decorations.

The winner will be able to customize a package of your choosing that includes:

  • Black fluted plates and bowls
  • Clear tumblers, wine cups, and pitcher
  • Clear Serve ware (tray and bowl)
  • Clear dessert miniatures with mini utensils
  • Floral patterned napkins with cream solid beverage napkins
  • Black Duet (black handle with silver top) cutlery
  • White lace table covers

You will even get an extensive selection of hanging fruit decorations with festooning and streamers.

Your package will be two-day shipped to your home, so you have it in plenty of time for Sukkot! This package is valued at over $125!

Sounds pretty awesome, doesn’t it?! To enter the Festive Table Setting giveaway, just complete the instructions on the Rafflecopter. The first entry is mandatory: Leave a comment on this post telling me whether you are a real dishes person or if you prefer disposables? (Feel free to differentiate between the rest of the year and Sukkot, like I do. ;-))

The rest of the entries are optional – but remember: The more ways you enter, the better your chances are of winning!

  1. I’m a real dish person to save money and for environmental reasons. But I would SOoooo enjoy picking out special paper goods for my company to dine on on Sukkot!

  2. We usually use real dishes, but the ease of disposable sometimes wins!

  3. Real dishes all the way! But for Sukkot and anytime there are big crowds, disposable are a lifesaver.

  4. Larry Lennhoff says

I’m a real dishes person, as long as the dishwasher is working!

  5. I use a combo of real dishes and disposable.

  6. Real for dairy and disposable for meat. I am a vegetarian, and I refused to buy meat dishes thinking it would keep us from eating meat at fancy/Shabbos/yom tov meals. Alas, that did not work. Most of the time, I end up making meat for Shabbos and serving it on plastic plates all the while explaining to the guests that our china and Corell are dairy.

  7. depends on how many people. when we lived in apt we never used real dishes for meals over 6 people. now that we have a home with a dishwasher we’ve upped the number to 12.

  8. I try to use real (even for sukkos!) but sometimes life gets in the way…

  9. Combination – but sukkot is always disposables. awesome giveaway!

  10. real for yom tov but disposable for the shabbos chol hamoed

  11. I’m usually a real dishes person, but lately I’ve decided disposable is the way to go! Too many dishes and no dishwasher makes for motzei shabbat/yom tov no fun at all!

  12. I tend to go for real when I can, but I am no opposed to pretty plastic if the situation requires. Which basically means any yom tov I am hosting more than two meals and can program my dishwasher for more than one load :).

  13. shandel strasberg says

i do disposable most of the time… maybe when i get a milchig dishwasher i’ll do real dishes more often 😉

  14. Sukkot is a hard time to use real dishes.

real disposable!!! only way to go with a large family.

  20. In the sukkah definitely disposable. The rest o te time depends on the number of people and situation. I try to use real on Shabbat even with a lot but 15 ppl and up needs plastic

  21. I’m trying to phase back into real dishes, but lately we’ve been pretty much all disposable.

  22. I like using real dishes year-round, but for Sukkos, disposable is the way to go-especially if it’s fancy looking.

  23. I like using real dishes, but definitely prefer disposable for Sukkot!

  24. Miriam Leah Schwartz says

combo if its a three day yom tov!

  25. Chad pa’ami ALL weeklong…Real ONLY on shabbos and YT!!

  26. It is a lot easier to use disposables when there is a 3 day yomtov/Shabbos. Most people don’t even have enough non-disposable china to feed everyone on real dishes. Personally I stock up on paper goods.

  27. real dishes! I’m too concerned about the environment to do otherwise.

  28. I use real dishes on Shabbos and weekdays. I use paper goods for the Yom Tov meals when it is too busy to be constantly washing dishes.

  29. combo if real dishes and disposable

  30. I used to only use real dishes then i found myself cleaning up for hours after shabbat. It made me not want to have guests. So now when its just family its dishes, but company gets paper!

  31. I feel a song coming on.

Paper plates have made my life so wonderful.
Paper plates have made my life so free.
Paper plates I use on every yontif.
Paper plates you mean so much to me.

Wash dishes when I could finish the meal with great conversation, reading and rest?
    No, thank you.
    Paper plates keep me sane!

  32. I use a combo… mostly real dishes, but paper is so easy for when we have company.

  33. I’m a real dishes person – except in the Succah (though I must admit we use real stemware and real cutlery there too…..)
    Thanks for this exciting giveaway!
    Chag Sameach!!!

  34. Real dishes, even for kid’s birthday parties! I’ve got everyday dairy for 20, Shabbas dairy for 16, and meat for 16.

And we don’t have a dishwasher.

So, I’ve finally learned to use paper for Break Fast. And I’d love to try disposable for Sukkot.

  35. I like paper when I’m super busy and for succos. Otherwise,I like to use real.

  36. I am an environmentalist and I feel so strongly about reusing when I can. That being said, sometimes you just need life a little bit easier and I turn to disposables to help at holiday time.

  37. I’m a real dishes kinda gal, but sometimes disposable (especially NICE disposable) is really convenient!

  38. just like you: prefer real, but not in the sukkah

  39. Rebecca Starr says

Mostly real dishes unless it is a really HUGE crowd!

  40. I prefer real dishes for the <3 eco-friendliness <3 of it,
    {but when I have to drag them to and from the sukkah I have been known to buy disposable}

  41. I love using paper dishes! It’s just not so important to me to use real dishes and I love spending less time cleaning up. I’d rather spend more time enjoying my family!!

  42. I’m a real dishes gal (the guilt of throwing out so much is significant), but when I have lots of guests, like on Sukkos, I do use nice disposables.

  43. Real dishes all week and on Shabbos and Chagim except for Sukkos–then I use disposables for the place settings with some real serving dishes that are theme specific and only get used for Sukkos. I also find that while we use Real dishes for Seder we tend to use more disposables during the week of Pesach.

  44. disposables. I am lazy lol

  45. I’m lucky enough to have two dishwashers, so we usually use real. Sukkot is paper the entire time (much like Pesach).

  46. Disposable at all times when entertaining, and even some weeknights when we have no energy after caring for our 2 infants!

  47. i love disposable why have to wash plates and spend all thattime just throw them away!!!!

  48. We almost always use real dishes, but over RH, when we hosted 75 people over the 3 day yontif, we used a ridiculous amount of disposables. Thanks for this awesome give away. Chag Sameach!

  49. Real dishes normally in honor of shabbos and yom tov. To limit possible damage in the sukkah (cement floor, limited space, guests children helping to carry and throw things out etc.) I use the nicer (its yom tov afterall) disposables. Dishes, cutlery, glasses, tablecloths you name it I use it. At the end of the meal it all goes into the garbage which cuts down on the dishwashing that I have to do.

  50. I use real dishes most of the time but for Sukkot disposable is so much easier.
