It’s been such a fun year here on KOAB. We blew previous traffic statistics out of the water — as there were over 1 million visits to the blog this year! (I know! I can’t believe it either!)
I have you to thank for that growth — your support and word of mouth have made KOAB into a resource for more people than I ever could have imagined. Thank you!
The top 5 most popular posts in 2013, according to Google:
#1. The 7 Things I Always Buy at Costco — This post wasn’t even written in 2013 – that’s the power of Google search, I guess!
#2. 25 Vegetarian Passover Recipes — The traffic on this one is thanks in large part to your fantastic amount of shares on Facebook (800+) and Pinterest (2000+). Thank you!
#3. Frugal Experiment: Making Salsa from Scratch — This post also wasn’t written in 2013; it caught someone’s fancy on Pinterest, which ended up driving thousands of pins to this one little post!
#4. Best Black Friday 2013 Deals on an iPad Mini – another Google Search phenomena
#5. There is a tie for fifth place between Frugal Creative Mishloach Manot Ideas and 101 Mishloach Manot Ideas — Both of these might be good ones to check out now, since Purim is just around the corner!
Most commented on post: Outside of giveaways (where my giveaway of a coach bag clearly took the prize), the most commented on post in 2013 was Are Student Loans Good Debt?, followed closely by My Response to the Lilith Article on Affording Jewish Day School.
Most popular deal: It’s hard to say exactly, but based on sale numbers, I’d have to say the KidKraft Passover Set or one of the other KidKraft deals takes this prize. Over 300 of you bought the Passover Set, alone! (Too bad these were all so short-lived.)
Thanks for being a part of this amazing year – and I’m looking forward to even more dialogue, sharing and fun in 2014.
Tell me: What was your favorite post in 2013?
Can’t believe my question “Are Student Loans Good Debt?” became one of the most commented articles! I truly love and appreciate all the wisdom you put in to this blog – it is a huge mitzvah you are doing.
Thank you so much, Melissa – for your kind comments and for the great question!
I love all the Pesach articles! I actually found your website nearly 3 years ago when I was panicking over making all of Pesach (read:Seders) for the first time. It helped me calm down, prepare, lower my expectations (I wasn’t going to have a full set of everything the first year, and small simple meals are fine for a small family) and save money. Now I use some of the deals still to buy ahead for Pesach, but a lot of them in every day life.
