If you are a teacher, homeschooler or college professor, you may be entitled to some very sweet discounts at your favorite stores. Today’s guest post from my friend and fellow frugal blogger, The Daily Cheapskate, rounds up the best of these discounts – and shows you how to qualify for them.
Are you an educator? Teachers, professors, home-schoolers, etc. can get all sorts of discounts at various retailers.
Most of the discounts below are in-store only and cannot be combined with other offers. In most cases, all you need to do to prove that you are a teacher is to show a teacher’s ID or pay stub. Check the individual program; requirements and rewards vary greatly. Homeschoolers can get an ID card here.

Don’t be afraid to ASK for a teacher discount, especially on major purchases and at locally owned stores! Hubby and I bought a new dishwasher from a locally owned appliance store and I decided to ask for a teacher discount – salesman gave me an extra 10% off! It never hurts to ask!
