Three years ago, I bought a “good” camera and vowed to myself that I would never use it on “automatic mode”. Only problem? I didn’t know my aperture from my shutter speed.
Despite my ignorance, I really wanted to figure out how to take good pictures that utilized the full capability of my brand new camera. I wasn’t aiming for award-winning, mind you — just for pictures that I don’t constantly have to apologize for!

I was really impressed with the Shoot Fly Shoot videos — they are clear, easy to understand and just enough information without being overwhelming. I like how they break the lessons down into bite-sized pieces — Exposure, ISP, Aperture, Shutter Speed, etc.
The videos range from a few minutes to 45 minutes long, and you can watch them over – and over – again until you really “get” that lesson. Once you make a purchase, the class is yours forever — watch them again, anytime you need a refresher. Being able to learn at your own speed is so important when you’re doing something hands on like photography.
Beside shots for the blog, I primarily use the lessons I gleaned from Shoot Fly Shoot to take shots of my kids. Or even the pretty flowers in our backyard!
